qgpjfj32.exe windows xp problem

can anyone give me advice on how to combat the following problem.

Everytime I try to shut down windows i get the screen which says "ending program qgpjfj32.exe". Windows closes the program but after a anothor windows pops up which says that the program could not be ended and request me to shut the program down. I do so, next time I log into windows all my history from using the internet disappears, including addresses that then do not show up on the address bar.

I know that qgpjfj32.exe is a pf file which is the prefetch folder but this does cause me problems and occur problems. These problems include the re-emergence of spy and ad software which appeared on my computer on tuesday, I did a virus check and showed that i had 3 viruses that were deleted. I deleted the spy and ad software numerous times but they re-emerge. I have since then used system restore a number of times and installed new anti spy/ad software to my desktop and are enabled on startup. I dont know if the qgpjfj32.exe program is affected by the virus or I still have a virus which has not been detected but I have been battling with this problem for 2 days and nights and have been through nearly everything i can think for a basic user of a computer including deleting the files and running check up in safe windows mode.

If anyone has any suggestions to the qgpjfj32.exe program it would be great as there is nothing on the net suggesting to this problem.

 

You need to follow the recommendations in the Spyware Forum to rule out infection.

As far as qgpifj32.exe, do a search on your drive (make sure "hidden files and folders" are showing) and see which folder it is in, or if that doesn't tell you then right-click and properties for the parent company.

 

Why dont you clean prefetch?
