JimLL I can't follow the rules

I ran the Autoruns utility to have a look around. There is a MalwareBytes entry under the category HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

Can someone tell me what this is about? Does that actually run MalwareBytes at boot?

    Hi

Yes it will run once at boot, and only gets added if you have been running MBAM or just updated it to latest version/definition file as a reboot is needed to fully install the udpate and/or remove any found malware. It doesnt run it per say in ist GUI form, but runs the app before you get to the Windows GUI, as to update some apps or remove malware this has to be done before Windows loads.

You can if you know none of the above is correct in your case just delete the entry and next time you run/scan or update MBAM take a look in Autoruns for the said entry.
