Question about cd rom

Setting up a computer , have installed DVD R/RW and DVD ROM do I also need to install CD ROM at the moment in event viewer getting a lot of errors for cd error .Also my 2 drives are showing DVD and CD Drives

Go to the manufacturer's website to make sure you have the correct drivers. But I know that sometimes a DVD writer will have 'CD' in it's name within Device Manager (because they usually read/write CDs as well as DVDs).

As for the errors, you need to rule out the possibility that the CD isn't scratched/cracked/bad.

What do the error messages say?
