I installed Comodo firewall and now know why I uninstalled it before. Every time I boot up, it says it has found a new network I'm about to join and to give it a name. I don't know exactly what this means and tell it to not detect any more networks and close it. How do you get it to quit doing that? Do you give the network a name and why?

If your using an ethernet/lan like me it's just securing that network connection to be protected as it could be a full Intranet or Lan rather than a personal internet connection via the phone/broadband company which I want protected anyway.

Hope that helps cos I think you'd have to disable it to stop it - I just left mine what it called it :)
But you could ask iain.t :-D

Did you go to Comodo > More > Preferences > General
"Automatically detect new private networks" should not be ticked

I don't want to join any networks so I have only ever closed the window without doing anything.
    It is confusing :confused

Thanks for the response MadMal. I checked what you mentioned and it was unchecked. It's funny but doing the same thing I've done in the past has stopped it from repeating that message. Beats me. d:>)
