Question about driver removal

I got a new video card. I removed the old one from my main system and put it into my other machine. I installed the new card and then installed the new driver. After completing this task, I realized that I failed to uninstall the previous driver first. Now I am getting some minor graphical wierdness with various textures in the games I play. I think that some remnant of my old driver may be causing me these problems. Is there some way to remove the entirety of both drivers to get a clean install? Is there perhaps a folder containing all drivers that I can just delete the contents of and reinstall all of my machine's drivers cleanly? Do I have to perform a full format and reinstall of WinXP to correct this?


Specs:

ASUS P4S800-MX motherboard
Intel Pentium4 3.4G CPU
1G of system RAM
EVGA GForce 6600 LE video card with 256M RAM (new one. A Gainward GForce FX 5600 256M RAM was the old one)


I have the current DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) installed and I'm running WinXP Pro (5.1, build 2600).

Not sure what other specs or information may be needed, so ask if elaboration is required. I think it's odd to be having issues, since they are both NVidia based cards and that company uses the same driver for all of it's GForce line of cards.

I forced on vertical sync and it seems to have taken care of the little graphical problems I was having with my games. So I don't need to do a format and reinstall...

There's a program called driver cleaner you can DL at www.driverheaven.net to remove all traces of prior drivers when installing new ones. It's usually run in safe mode after uninstalling old drivers, then reboot into normail mode and install your new drivers. Common practice and recommended by many people.
