    Hi

Data, settings and personal files, favourites etc fine as mentioned with the likes of east transfer, by personally if new hardware you want to reinstall apps etc from scratch and don't entertain copying the registry at all to replace a new installed OS's registry as you only going to have trouble.

Personally I would transfer your files to new of and format, reinstall Windows on that PC as you font want any of your personal stuff being recovered.

    Hi

You may need to wipe the PC clean or uninstall any applications, games you have paid for as the activated licence may or wont allow multiple activations, especially if these applications activate online, if in the case of many they are uninstalled/deactivated on the old PC then its at worse a call to the software companies support line to have it activated again (IF any EA games do be warned they have some weird licencing that is nto transferable at all).

No on old programs if you have the installers (setup files or CD/DVDs) and licence keys then your fine, its best to reinstall your applications on a new PC and the registry information for these applications and their licence info will be recreated, Ive just gone through this 2 weeks ago in a new build PC, installed Windows and Drivers, installed security software, connected to net and installed udpates to Windows and apps and then defragged and installed my must have applications etc and defragged and all working 100%.

If you do merge the old registry with the new many settings for hardware and account permissions will be wrong as will Windows licence info, which will at best cause you to spend weeks fixing weird issues or at worse cause you to re-install Windows again anyway.
