question about hard drive

I have a question on a western digital 3tb cavier green edition hard drive. I have an asus p5qe motherboard, running a western digital 250 gig hard drive. I want the western digital 3tb, then transfer the 250 gig hard drive onto the 3tb. Also if thi 3tb hard drive would be a good fit for this computer, does anyone have the steps to transfer all the data onto the 3 tb hard drive?

 

anyone? Im guessing cloning drive for moving the contents, I have Acronis true image, but I dont know how to move all of the content from one drive to the other so that i can use the new drive as the primary drive and move the old hard drive to a different computer.

It should allow you to create a bootable media cd/dvd which is how I would do it. You will create the cd/dvd and boot to that cd/dvd then follow the first clone KB steps. Just make sure you select the correct drive for the source and destination.
