So, tonight I discovered the private calendar option on here (yeah I know...took me long enough!). So I decided to try it out....heck, you give me options and buttons and I am going to play with them ;) So I entered something and it gave me the message that it would be posted once approved by an Admin.

So, my question is, if it is private, why would it require Admin approval first...or am I misunderstanding the meaning in this instance of "private"?

    Just curious....no biggie :)

Big brother is watching you! :p

You got me curious, where did you find that? All I could find was the public calendar... And that one is full, too many birthdays going around! :D

    Where you find that Lev?

I know their is a public calendar option and as its public any postings to that would need admin approval, similar to the Buy/Sell/Trade forum.

I also doubt we have it set up for anyone to add specific dates/appointments etc to the CAL from members apart from the default birthdays.

Click on Calendar at the top to display a public calendar by default then select Private in the drop down list at the bottom under Calendar Jump.

I think you then should be able to see, add or delete events in your profile under Miscellaneous - Event Reminders.

That's the one Maxwell, thanks :)

I didn't think I could be the only one who never knew about it. I had never seen a thread or comment about it before.

Never really bothered with the calendar before as I have no use for it, but now I know where the functions are, cheers Maxwell :)

I have added a date to it, but then I wouldnt need approval to do that, however I cannot as yet see a section or option to approve members posts to that section like we have for the BST forum. Its possibly not enabled and thats why you get that message.

I did wonder, as mine hasn't been approved. I um'd and ah'd as to whether to post this. I was thinking if everyone suddenly started using it, the admins would do nothing but approve everyone's social events all day lol. My guess is it is not enabled. I wouldn't use it either, but it was kinda cool to discover hidden treasure ;)
