No its better to have higher core voltage and higher clocks for performance,if you lower the stock core voltage without lowering the core clock your card may become unstable. Usually there's some leeway at stock clocks and voltage's,you can lower the voltage and it won't become unstable and you can raise the clocks and it won't become unstable.

If your card is running too hot you really need to improve the cooling of your case,if your not having any problems leave the voltage stock.

BTW the normal voltage is 1.1V.

No its not really hot the GPU has its own fan i keep the speed fan at like 60%.It does seem too run better at the right Core clock i don't like the idea that it was pushed that far bye the makers.i mean i probably could push it even farther i could even max it out if i wanted too i guess but i don't like at the speed i don't see much difference in the speed of the GPU i set it back too the main settings and it runs better i think.

Core Clock: 951MHz (vs. NV Ref. 900 Mhz)Shader Clock: 1903 Mhz (vs. NV Ref. 1800 Mhz)Stream Processors: 192 Processor CoresEffective Memory Clock: 4356 Mhz (v.s. NV Ref. 4100 Mhz)

The card will be fine at stock voltages and frequencies, usually you can overclock all cards 50-100mhz on the core, shader and memory clocks without increasing the voltage at all and it will be perfectly stable.

The only way to know is to run 3dmark vantage or unengine heaven benchmark or similar, they will push your card and find its limit,if you see artifacts or it crashes then its unstable at the lower or higher voltage they will also give you a reference for the performance.

Monitor your temperatures with msi afterburner, all available at Majorgeeks.

Cards are very robust and have many different safety features in place, they are almost idiot proof. You will only break the card or seriously shorten its lifespan if you increase the voltages by a silly amount like to 1.5 without upgrading the cooling and then bump up the frequencies.

It really is hard to break a card, your computer will stop functioning way before your anywhere near breaking it or performance will noticeably degrade.

I use the CCleaner Speccy Too gage my temps And i all so do use the MSI after burner witch is very good item too have if you want too over clock your video card.I mostly get my items at filehippo.com they usely have the latest updated of the programs i use.Speccy tells me all the info on my computer witch is handy if needed.

Its bad form to plug other software sites on here.:) Every program we've discussed is available from the front page.
