Question about Outlook 6 on dial up

I use a dial up connection and consequently it pays to receive as short email messages as possible. I have been getting an email lately that must contain a video or something to take a long, long time to download. I use Outlook 6 and my question is this. How can I know beforehand how big a message is so I can refuse the huge ones and not commit to downloading them.
    Thanks for any help.

You can use the webmail provided by your Internet Service Provider.

Thanks Puppywunder58. I was hoping to avoid that and stick with Outlook Express 6. Do you know of a way to do what I need in Outlook Express 6?
    Thanks.

As far as I know there is no way to do that with OE6. That's because as soon as you use OE6 to retrieve your mail it takes it off the server from your ISP.

You could try using an application like this to preview your mail on the server before dl'ing it. http://www.majorgeeks.com/CheckP3_d2407.html

Hey, thanks a lot for the link. I just downloaded it. I'll try it tonight and let you know.

Thanks again, Puppywunder58. I tried the program you told me about. It was about as time consuming as going to the web mail account of my server. I guess there are no really short cuts but it is good to have a backup anyway.
I really appreciate your input. Thanks.

Might try a combination of Mozilla Thunderbird and an add-on like Get Partial Messages. I haven't tried this particular add-on so don't know how well it works but it's something to consider. I noticed though, the add-on only has a 1 star rating but, at this point it has only been downloaded 763 times.

You could browse threw the Thunderbird Add-ons and see if you can find something that might work. If you find something, then download & install Thunderbird and then install the add-on.
