question about RAM

Hi,
I want to upgrade my RAM on my pc. Simple right, just buy the chips and install em. But my problem is my computer is a hand me down and im not quite shure what type of RAM it is. The person i received the computer from says i have SIMM installed on it. But the site for memory upgrades say it takes DIMM ram. So im confused on what is installed on the computer. Is there any way of telling by just looking at it or some software that i can download to tell me what is installed on the pc? I know this question sounds stupid but i am just plain confused. Thanks for the program but it doesnt tell me what type of ram is in there. It tells me status about how much there is and used, but it doesnt give me a clear cut answer to wether its SIMM or DIMM.

 

Yeah i found it. Kinda weird cause this sounds really stupid but i dont know what type of board it is. I think its mx3wpro but on the hardware itself it says mx3wpro -v. But i think its mx3w but i find it strange how a board as old as this one is can be running sdram on it. Thanks for the program suggestion d3m3nt3d

i mean mx3wpro cause when the first bios screen comes up at the top left corner of the screen it says mx3wpro.

 

Oh ok! Thats great lol. Yeah i might upgrade it so i was just wondering cause it is an older computer and wasnt quite sure because the computer and thats exactly what i think it said. It was pc 100 but good enough though. Thanks for helping me clear this up.

Wait a minute... before we celebrate lol i wanna know one thing. If the ram type is SDRAM why would it say in that status box up top of the screen before the ram chip stuff DIMM1:
and DIMM2:
then give me ram information?

 

dimm1 and dimm2 is your ram slots where you put the ram
