Question about spyware protection apps

A dude brought me his PC because he's having some issues (minor malware which is already taken care of, some slowness in IE and Windows navigation, etc). No major issues; I think it's mainly just maintenance and cleaning.... anyway, the question is: would there be a problem running the paid versions of MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) and SUPERAntiSpyware (SAS) together? I know that running two active AV apps at the same time on the same PC can wreck all kinds of havoc, but what about these two AS apps? I know some AS apps con be run together without issues. But what about MBAM and SAS running their respective active, real-time protection simultaneously? This dude was pretty impressed with the detection/removal abilities of both MBAM and SAS so he's considering buying 'em both.....

    Thanks.

You should try with ThreatFire.I use this app with Avast-TURBO protection.MBAM is better then SAS.

Really? Even though they (MBAM) don't have direct disk access and can't see rootkits that hide from the Windows API? SUPERAntiSpyware and MBAM compliment each other nicely as MBAM focuses on lots of "traces" and SUPERAntiSpyware can see rootkits and such that hide from the Windows API that others can't see due to the fact they use the Windows API.

So I guess this answers my question.... so there won't be any conflicts between the two?

Sorry, my bad cos I didn't know about DDA.When you say DDA (Direct Disk Access),I go to SAS site and see this new thing(pretty amazing) I can say.I use the older 3.6 version but I have big problems with this app.

I would not run two in real time. I currently run SuperAntiSpyware free v4.0 and have the current core and trace files as indicated by the website (not sure why i don't have version 4.1) and have no problems scanning on demand.

I would tell him if he wants both, he can only have one paid and the other must remain free so they won't both be monitoring at the same time.
