I don't know what I was, or wasn't thinking the other night, but I tried taking pictures from an XP machine, putting them on a SanDisk flash drive, and moving them to a Ubuntu KDE Machine. It didn't work, but I'd like it to.. Is there anything I can do? I am so very new at Linux, but I like it. Thanks. :major

Should be as simple as you described. Give more info on how exactly it didn't work.

Thanks, I'll take a Screen Shot of the error tonight or write down what the problem is. No hurry. I'll figure it out somehow.

Off topic, I'm getting the newest version of Ubuntu now, once I get it on a CD, can I just install over the old version? Like a software update?

No, because it is a new version. It is better to do a clean install.
Only update if you are going from let's say 8.04 to 8.10. If you are going from 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon, to 8.04 Hardy Heron then it is a different version rather than an update.

I updated from 7.10 to 8.04 via Synaptic.

    No troubles whatsoever.
