thinking about getting a 8600GT or a 7600GT but worried that my cpu may not be enought to support the card well

    my current specs are

Intel Celeron D 356 3.33 GHz Socket 775 L2 512 KB (benchmarks same as a P4-E570 3.8ghz in all the benchmarks ive run)
    1 Gig DDR2 533 pc4200 ram
    160gb sata hdd
    X700 PCI-E Video Card

Well, being that most games are video card dependent, and the card itself relies less on the CPU (GPU and all), I'd say it would be an upgrade.

Of course, so would be an extra gig of ram. Make sure you have a big enough PSU.
