I get directed to driverfiles dot net fairly often when looking for drivers, and you can't donwload any drivers from them unless you download and install their free program called "Driver Detective". I've always been leary of this as it seems ripe for malware. Has anyone actually tried this program, and if so, does do anything worthwhile?
    Thanks.

    It's what I would call a "scam".

They "offer" ~new_updated~ drivers for a fee.

PLUS, you have to install .net framework in order for it to run.

I would call the results "false-positives". If you do not have any issues with current drivers, then WHY?

The only time you may need new drivers is to "keep_up_with" current/new hardware which you may have installed. And in these cases you can usually obtain them from the hardware manufacturers site.

    IMHO, stay away from it.
