Question about XP SP 2

Ok so i just found out Microsoft has ditched the Microsoftspyware beta 1 for an update version.Well i tried downloading it but turns out i need sp 2 to finish the install.Now i have heard download SP 2 and don't download it for some time so which one is it.Also my pc harddrive is only 74.5 gb so will downloading sp 2 infact drag my pc like i was told.

 

SP2 is fine to install. Keep in mind, any malware caused problems, regisgtry problems, and otherwise system stability problems, can be enhanced via SP2. Make sure your drivers and applications are up to date, as well.

 

I may but why would people be not want an updated xp from sp 1 to 2 cause i have seen some stay i'm staying away from 2

 

Can you say, some people are stupid

 

Instead, can we say, that some are misinformed, or better yet have heard of horror stories. Also, a few individuals will not upgrade due to having illegal installs of XP PRO.

On topic, I'd also want to add to Adrynalyne post. I recommend making sure the machine is free of any malware related issues BEFORE you install SP2. I have personally ran into a few SP2 installs that refused to install properly do to malware causing errors.

 

My xp is legal i'm not worried but ya i had a ton of spyware problems i'll make sure everything is clean before installing sp2.
