Question concerning, "Thanks" button

When I post, asking for help, and someone responds---if I push the, "Thanks" button---are they notified as if I had responded with a written response?---just want to be sure those who have helped are properly thanked---"Thanks"!

Hi

Sadly no they are not automatically notified, but likely they will revisit the thread to catch up on if your issue is fixed or not, also likely they will see the thanks count go up.

I kinda like the thanks button opposed to adding a new post, so cheers or "thanks" for using this new option

we also have the ratings system (the little + and - keys at the top right of every post), but it's not as noticeable as the thanks system.

This is really dumb but I do not know how to single quote different parts of a reply.....:-o

Are you talking about having the person's name in each quote?

If so, just put

person's name said:

in the front of the quote instead of just

If you are talking about separating the quote into many quotes, just use the quote tool up in the Toolbar of the message box. It's next to the picture tool. Highlight just the text you want and click on that quotebox. Then do it again for the next sentence or section you want to quote.

If you are talking about only quoting one part of someone's post. Just delete the parts you don't want, making sure to leave the quote boxes.

Basically you want

... [/ quote] (without the space after the /) surrounding whatever text you want to quote.
