Well I have an nvidia 6600 agp and recently my computer has been locking up... I was wondering... Could a GPU overheating be the reason? My video card seems very hot to the touch and I don't think that this is normal

The gpu chip runs hot and this is normally between 30-60c.

Use Everest to determine this temperature, providing the card has a built in temp. monitor.

i ran everest and i'm pretty sure that it doesn;t have a temperature moniter... Also, another question regarding the video card subject... I got my video card used and ut requires a molex plug.. Would it be harmful to be using a molex from my psu? or could i get a replacement somewhere?

That's what you are supposed to use.

Just get a free molex plug and plug it in.

Try not to use Y connectors or splitters, give the card it's own plug and line.
