We've got ants in the apt bad in carpet. Was wondering if ant spray can make carpet change color?

Get some Borax powder at your hardware store, non-toxic and inexpensive, or some ant powder, perhaps toxic. Liquids can always leave a stain, maybe try it in a corner somewhere first?

Ya, bait them where they come in and they'll happily feed their queen some borax if it's in a sugar solution. Lines of ants like that sure are disturbing!.

Ill try it. At this moment only got few things to use. Got to wait till get my money tomarrow to go buy stuff I get told to try. But yeah ant army under my chair atm pretty disturbing. GF "never thinks things get bad" we had few ants and havnt seen any for 2 days. Now hundreds all over. I don't understand I thought they went for food/sugar. Few in trash but so many for what reason? :-D I also maybe think its "new neighbors down the hall" just moved in "when ants" just moved in:(

The few that you initially saw are scouts and if they found a food source then they call in the army. Where are they going?

Ya, you only have to miss one scout before the army is called.:( Check your pantry too if you've got sugar there. Anyways, it should be the landlord's job to get rid of them. Give him heck!;)

We had a horrible problem with ants. I tried the baits on the counters and everything. All it did was seem to bring more ants if you ask me. I called the exterminator and he gave me some ridiculous price and story on what I should do. I was looking in the grocery store and saw the spikes that you put in the ground outside the house. Amazing what common sense that is. A pack of 6 cost about $7 or something and I have never had an ant problem since. That was about 4 years ago. I've changed them out once. I bought new ones this year, but never got around to doing them. I didn't need to.

Not sure if you can manage somehow to do it outside your apt building or if that even makes sense, but it's worth a look. Maybe put 3 packs of them around the building.

I had a major problem with ants, solved it by drizzling Paraffin/Kerosene against the wall around the outside of my house. The Paraffin/Kerosene poisons the ground, ants won’t cross it, and it also kills off weeds. A word of warning though don’t smoke near it for a few hours or so or your problem could be a lot wore than a few ants

Your landlord needs a beating if he lets this sort of thing continue, in my opinion... but if he won't help, the best thing you can do after trying to kill them all (if you have pets, check the warning labels on the cans!) is to put bait and sugary things where you want them to go, outside your apartment.

I suggest the landlord's office. :innocent
