This is a question mainly for AT&T DSL users about choice of browser.

I’d been ignoring the Yahoo browser update request for awhile. Finally clicked on it and found this message:

The AT&T Yahoo! Browser will no longer be updated or supported. Your system will still have the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser installed, which you could continue to use to access the Internet. We recommend you follow the steps below to uninstall the AT&T Yahoo! Browser to ensure that you have the best surfing experience possible with a browser which can be regularly updated and supported.

Consider updating your browser - We recommend downloading the new Internet Explorer 8 optimized for AT&T powered by Yahoo! which is compatible with your AT&T Internet service and can provide improved Internet browsing and security.

However, any of the below browsers are compatible with AT&T Internet service and will provide a similar experience, along with the latest bug fixes from the software vendor. (If you already have one of these browsers installed on your computer, you do not need to take this step.) Compatible browsers include:
    • Internet Explorer optimized for AT&T powered by Yahoo!
    • Mozilla Firefox
    • Safari

I have not heard anything good about IE8. It is the only update from Windows update that I have not installed. I still have IE6. Has anyone used this AT&T version?

I added Mozilla as a browser recently, and I like it. I use it now instead of the old AT&T ybrowser on one of my computers.

I know very little about Safari. Are there any fans of this browser who can tell me why it might be a good choice?

I have Comodo firewall on both computers.

Not an AT&T user, but another fast browser that is updated pretty often and is safe and VERY fast is Opera.

I agree on that Opera 10.00 is a very good browser to use.

I had that to start off with then it updated to 10.00 which I really saw a difference in the browser itself, it comes with page loading turbo when on slow networks.

Opera 10.00 is not in beta anymore the final release has now ready to download.
