i was wondering if it would be ok to blow the inside of my computer case out using air from a compressor, of course regulated down to only a few psi. i know there is some moisture in the compressed air but wondering if it would be enough to make it a bad idea to clean a computer this way. thanks

Oh how I miss the days when I had a compressor to use for cleaning my puter.:( It does a much better job then the cans of compressed air that lose pressure so quickly and cost SO much! As long as you are lowering the pressure, testing it out before aiming it inside your tower, and making sure you aren't actually coming in contact with any components you should be good to go.:) *envies ej25lvr*

yea ill definatly check to make sure the pressure isnt to high, especialy where its set to now. 90 psi:eek: lol im a mechanic so when i do side jobs at home its set to that. i figure maybe 5 to 10 psi should be low enough.

You should also clean the fans, fan cages thoroughly. Dirty fan blades really impede air flow. I use 99 % alcohol and Q-tips to remove the grime off the blades that no amount of air can remove. Don't forget the cpu fan either, 99% alcohol evaporates almost instantly, not wetting components.

im gonna clean all i can without taking to much apart. yep you are definatly right about the fan cages, mostly just my front intake fan 120 mm it has some dust bunnies clinging to the blades lol.

And most importantly the 'Heatsink' fan... (after earthing yourself) undo the 4 screws and disconnect the feed and take out.. and look at your cooling fins and see if they are getting blocked. I use a 1 inch paint brush and the hoover tube with a small atachment.. flick the dust with the brush and lower the tube to take away the access.. I do it at least every 6/7 weeks but there again my com is in the bedroom .. :)
