ok i was in best buy and i bought the norton internet security. the guy at the store said that the program could be downloaded to more than just one computer. my question is what is the exact limit to how many computers you can download it on?
my sister and my dad both have computers too.
i was wondering if i could download it to all three computers since they are all connected by wireless internet access.

so can all three computers be protected or will i need to buy more?

Legally or ethically speaking none. The copy you bought is meant got your use only -- unless in your End Users License Agreement (EULA) it gives you permission to do so. Besides, why saddle your friends and relatives with the hogginess of Norton when there are a lot of shareware or free applications here on MG that do the same job and suck up a LOT less space. See the front page and look in headings like AntiVirus or Firewalls .

Um . . . and you might want to look at the "don't use Norton" post a few lines down this page. Here

Bobo, Take it back and get your money back. Follow billH's links and read the posts against using Norton's. Lots of great advice and FREE programs here on MG. BTW, Welcome to major geeks. Bazza

If you havn't opened the Norton package, return it.

If you have, don't do a default install, that will install all of the nortonoriously system clogging fluff. Just install the Antivirus part.
Then look into some of the other security advice already given. I recommend Zone Alarm. AND DO YOUR MICROSOFT UPDATES.

(whisper) yes you can install it on more than one machine.

Don't listen to the Best Buy clerks. Their only job is to move your money from your wallet to their cash register. Return it if possible.
