Question on Ransomware 2.0

I'm sitting here wondering my computer as far as I know is clean and I have no reason to suspect otherwise but I still want to improve my security if I can. So I use Avast Antivirus Free, Outpost Security Suite Free for the firewall, and I use Firefox with Adblock Plus and Noscript. I keep Window's important updates fully...Updated and I avoid all sites I have the slightest bad feeling about. And once a month I make backups of all my HDDs to a internal HDD that I physically disconnect the power and data cords once done with it.

Is there anything I can do to better my Firefox or Windows protection, any new methods, programs? Should I change my AV or Firewall or are they still good? And where can I get comprehensive new information from?

Also I saw on the site a program called CryptoProtect, is it a good and effective security measure?

I all so use the AVG internet security with firewall and malwarebytes.

Rarely get any thing nasty.
