Question regarding Thoosje Vista sidebar !!!

Hi there good people !!!
I have a question about the Thoosje Vista sidebar.

From what i have seen in the Screenshot provided, it gives a vista look to XP. And im thinking of installing it. But before doing that, i would like to know if theres any drawback in that. Like, will i be facing any problems with my system files and registries ??

And also, would it slow down my computer. My current specifications are :

Windows XP SP2
P4 3Ghz
512MB RAM
149GB diskspace
GeForce 6600

Its going to cut into your ram, which is already anemic if you are into eye candy and such. So in that respect, you amy see some more swapping of your paging file.

 

I never had luck with Vista transformation packs, maybe that's just me. I never tried this one though.

 

Erhmmmm !!! English is not my mother tongue, so im having a little difficulty in what u just said.

I understand that its gonna take up some RAM space.,, what about the system files and registries. Will it cause any problems in that area ???

Just so u know, i really appreciate for the trouble ur taking.

 

It seems ok. A little clunky, I didn't really care for it.

The widgets arent really just for the sidebar, they can go anywhere on your screen. With about 4 widgets and the bar running, it used about 10mb of ram.

Nothing really felt slow, aside from the sidebar itself.

Seems to uninstall ok...make sure you close it first, the uninstaller won't.

Seems safe to try.

I might not be the brightess person in the world. But,, how u install this thing. ??
After extracting the rar file, all i get is just the Sidebar. I know im not doing it right. Can anyone guide me , on how to get this to work ?

Do i have to save the download in a specific folder and install from there ??
I downloaded the application on my desktop and then installed from there.
What am i doing wrong here ??

Please guide me through this.

 

Download the file, extract the rar file and install it. Then when you run it from start, programs, you clikc on the '+' sign in the bar to add widgets.

 

I think i misunderstood the whole thing. I assume that this app. is just for the Sidebar alongwith the Widgets.

I thought it was gonna transform my whole XP into Vista theme. In that case, i think its Vista Tranformation Pack that i should be looking for. Like the one here : http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4924

Here, the Editor of Vista Transformation Pack stated that there would be changes in system files and registry, and which could cause problems.

So, my question is, is it safe to install this, or im better off without it ?

I couldnt say, but if I understand it right, its pretty safe. For system files it will modify, its probably just uxtheme.dll, which controls themeing in XP.

Wait for a second opinion though.
