Question regarding Vaio media servers

I got a sony vaio computer and i got 6 services running, "vaio media music server, vaio media photo server", etc. I looked online and found out those servives are needed if i want to share music or pics throughtout the house. I never do that and dont think i'll ever do that. So my question is, can i stop these services from starting up and loading thus wasting system resources or do they do some other function and may mess up something if i stop them. If i do stop and reenable them in the future would they need reinstallation or do i just enable them and thats it..?
