question...

i have cable, and when i do a speed test on any site, i see that my download speed is about 2MB/s, but when i start downloading something, it starts of from 2MB/s, and then goes down until it reaches like 770KB/s.... i downloaded alot of stuff with torrents, and from many sites, and my download speed never went above 770KB/s.. but speed tests always shows around 2MB/s.... anyone kno why???

 

It is to do with the sites you are downloading from.
A lot depends on the seeds uploading speed.
Unfortunately you will not find a great deal of help on this forum for warez as it is not an area that we get involved with.

 

What speed do you pay for? If your download speed is 770 kb\s, most likely you have 6Mbit\s.

Some ISP may provide high speed in the moment of the query. Im not much into the tech stuff, so i don't know why, but my ISP works similar way. When i start to download something, or open the site, at the very beginning of the download the sped is very high, up to 100Mbit/s, so files around 1mb are downloaded very fast, but then it get's limited according to what i pay for.

 

Here is an easy way to test your speed but remember it is weekend and heavy use on the server.

Mine is normally around 19700 but as you can see it's being throttled at the moment.

 

i do pay for the 20Mbits/s.. and wow first time my speed tests reached 28M.... usually around 20M....

and ye i thought it did have something to do with sites downloading from.. but i downloaded from many difrent sites, and on all it never went above 770KB/s... and same in torrents.. i was getting hundreds of seeds, but never went above 770, and i even tried uploading at full speed at the same time, but it didnt change a thing...

 

aaah srry all... i just read on my ISP website that the download speed should be 6Mb/s... dang... stupid speed tests dont kno how to count... i also learned about the powerboost that comes with my internet... which is a higher downloading speed at the beginning, so i can download small things faster... like once i remember i started downloading something and in the beggining my speed was 5MB/s.. downloaded 20mb in like 4 seconds... which is pretty nice... i probly need a longer speed tests to see my real downloading speed... srry to wasite ur time ppl... and tnx Bioware u were right lol..
