I recently had a new Hard drive installed on my PC. it has windows XP home as the OS. It is the Master drive, and the PC boots to it.

My old HD is still there, as the slave. My question is:

If I use F8 when I turn it on, and tell the PC to boot to the old hard drive, (which also has XP home on it) can I mess with the registry and other stuff in there and not do any harm to the Master drive? Lose no data, cause no hang ups etc. I would like to use the old hard drive as a learning tool, but I dont want to risk the main hard drive.

    Any advice?

    Thanks

    I'll be a geek yet!

Heck, MrP, after nearly 1700 posts here, if you've been taking notes, you're well on your way!
