do i really need SP2? i dont wanna downloaded and then have problems with it
its ok to just have SP1 right!

 

yeah it is. i recomend not getting sp2 until m$ makes it close to bug free. that'll be a while. probably when they start releasing it with the actual OS in the box.

If you dont want turn off auto update.
I have a couple of rigs running XP with SP1, I have decided to wait to run SP2, so many people are having problems and some are not.
I will eventually run SP2, but for now I'll just read about everyone problems.
When I do run it I'll probably first reformat and reinstall OS, start fresh!
Microsoft has list of programs that have conflict with SP2, I use few of them which I like, one of the reasons I'll wait.
I do have the SP2 on CD from microsoft, Link to get is posted in another thread. "You can order free from Microsoft"

 

I haven't had one single problem with SP2. Using a lot of graphics/word/game/web browser/tweaking/ etc. programs. If anything, it seems to run better.
