Questionable File

    Hello Everyone (Please Help)

    This is the situation that i am having. I am running Windows Vista and all of a sudden a file shows up by the name of (PUTTY.RND), at the same time that this file showed up, i have not been able to send attachments in my email, i do not know if this file PUTTY.RND is the cause or not.

    Can i delete this file PUTTY.RND off my computer without any problems to my computer.

    Did you install Putty yourself ?? http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

    Check registry to see if this is listed HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ SimonTatham. And if you need to remove it come out of reg and go to Dos prompt and type....
    putty -cleanup

    Thanks for the info, as for installing putty, no i did not install it, i was checking my files one day and noticed it on there. I will attempt to remove it. Thanks

    What is PUTTY.RND used for ?

    How does it get installed on your computer without your knowledge

    You may have used another program which has Putty as a built in component.
    Check when the file was "created".
