    OK, long post coming...

Now, if you look on the back of your computer, you should be able to see the cable that goes from your monitor to your computer (typically with a blue or white connector). If the connector is going horizontal (parallel to the ground), then it's replaceable. if it's going vertical (up and down), then it's not replaceable.

if it's the former, you should have an agp slot inside and be able to swap the video card out.

if it's the latter, it may not have an agp slot, and that's when you look inside the case and see if you have a brown AGP slot (it should be on top and conspicuously shifted towards the front more than the beige ones underneath). If you have an agp slot, you should be good to go.

what type of computer do you have? it'll be much eaiser for me to give you more details if you give me info on it.

that doesnt help; he meant computer specs and model # at least. If your computer is 5~ years old or newer it will have an AGP slot; to remove it you would have to open your case and remove the heep of dirt n dust mite in it :) then just unscrew the hold down screw on the AGP card located on the bottom left of your motherboard; where your monitor goes plugged in. then replace with desired AGP card. Be aware if you buy a "top of the line" card it wont perform "top of the line" if you have AGP 1/2/4x or if your system is quite outdated and just doesnt have the juice or POWER SUPPLY UNIT needed. Hope this helps.
