Questions about SQL Server & Outlook 2007

I have a PC here running WinXP Home SP3 and Office Pro 2007, and Outlook isn't running correctly due to a problem with SQL Server; it starts to open with it's splash screen, then some SQL Server errors pop up, I close 'em and Outlook eventually opens completely. Now, what is SQL Server, what does it have to do with Outlook 2007? Why is that plenty of PCs use Outlook just fine without SQL Server? I attached a screenshot that shows all the SQL Server items installed and listed in the Add/Remove Programs list. I also attached a screenshot of the 2 different SQL errors that are popping up before Outlook opens up. How are these errors affecting Outloook? I also have the errors from the Event viewer, but I won't post 'em unless someone thinks they would be helpful. This PC is part of a small network in a medical office that does simple file/printer sharing between maybe 5 or 6 PCs....

    THANKS!!!!!!!!!

. . . . is there an easy way to repair SQL Server if I don't have the install disc(s)? Will the free 'Express' SQL Server from Microsoft work?

OK- Outlook seems to work except for the 'Business Contact Manager', and that doesn't start because of this SQL error:

    HELP!!!!

I installed the free SQLEXPRESS 2008 available at the MS web site, and it made no difference. I went to services.msc and noticed most (if not all) the SQL entries were disabled or stopped. I tried to enable/start all of 'em, but the generally error out with a "one or more dependencies is not available" or something close to that, or something referring to "service-specific error code 3417"....

Never mind . . . . I gave up and uninstalled SQL Server 'cuz the owner of the PC said he had no idea what it was, how to use it, or if he even used it at all. I checked the "Last used" date and it was Jan 05 2009, so I guess it wasn't needed. Now I simply have to reconfigure the Business Contact Manager, and I'm done. No sweat.

    Hi dlb

Just a thought as if the owner is not running a SQL server is that they have Office installed and mainly Access as if they use that it will install a lite version of SQL by default, so maybe repair Office.

Could be the same for BCM as that also comes with versions of Office. But would need to know any error message that BCM gave to give a different opinion/fix other than repair install of Office.
