Questions regarding a USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter

    What's up guys, I'm trying to get my pops to have internet, but he doesn't know much about computers. He doesn't really want to pay for high speed internet. I was wondering if we bought a USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter could he just plug this into the usb port and then be able to go online? I'm not new to computers, but i'm pretty new to all this wireless stuff.
