Adding RAM to a Latitude D620. When it reboots. I get a (normal) message that starts "The amount of system memory has changed." with instructions to reseat the memory if you didn't change it.

OK, I did change it, so browsing the internets I see that if I let it run for a minute or 10, it will go to get to another screen.

Got that. It wants me to go to F1 to continue, or F2 to set up.

Can I just continue, or is there something in the BIOS that I need to tinker with?

Try going to F2 to enter BIOS and then just Esc to exit and hit <enter> to Save Changes and Exit. Then even though it restarts turn it completely off and restart and see if you still get the F1 or F2 message.

Yep - that worked. Not sure what I just did there, but now it boots normally. Wheee!

I think some systems notice changes like the RAM upgrade and automatically save the changes. Dell seems to want to force you into BIOS to review the changes before saving or something? Not really sure.

Glad it is gone so easily.
