Quick Question

    Does anyone know: If my computer is eligable for a free upgrade to windows 7 and its a online download will it somehow upgrade while keeping my memory intact or will my hard drive be wiped when i upgrade?

    Hi

    You would need to have a PC that is a OEM build and bought within a specific time period, say a Dell, HP, Sony, ACER etc bought around Oct/Nov 2009, but to be really sure you need to check your manufacturers website on your model PC.

    All of the upgrades will be from Vista to Win7 so if you have XP then its no go.

    If it is valid for an upgrade then it generally updates over the old OS leaving the data on your HDD intact but to be honest never rely on that and backup any important files, docs and pics etc.
