On my new motherboard, it came with software called, "Asus Probe 2", i looked around on it, and i need some help with something. Does anyone know what the CPU Fan Threshold is? I don't know if it's to increase the fan speed or what. I just got an AMD Athlon XP 2800 and it came with the fan. The cpu temperature is at about 130 degrees farenheight, and in my opinion that's kinda high. Does anyone know how I can increase the fan speed if the CPU Fan threshold is not used to increase the fan speed?

    Thanks

I don't have one but I would assume that CPU Fan Threshold is what temperature the fan cuts in or out or changes speed.

    Didn't you get a manual?

If not go to the ASUS SITE and download one.

Asus probe is used to monitor Fan speed/Temps/Voltage and general info,
I have a couple asus mobos, I have used probe before but have sinse removed the program. ( Asus Probe 2 must be the newest version)
If I remember rite, Probe isnt to change fan speed but to monitor and set warning times.

Anyway ya dont need to use Asus Probe.
In bios are settings to enable full speed of fan and some related stuff.

There are other factors that effect cpu temps other than fan speed such as case airflow, and using some good thermal paste or even aftermarket HS.
