quick ram questions

    my friend is trying to upgrade ram on his comp from '04...specs say max ram is 1gb (2x512)..if we put in 2x1gb stick will it run at 2gb sufficiently???thanks

    if the motherboard supports 1 gig.

    It would help to know the brand and model of motherboard your friend is working with. If the specs say it will only support one gigabyte of RAM, then installing two gigabytes doesn't make sense. My experience is the board will not "see" any RAM over what it was designed to support.
