   How do I find out if my daughter's laptop has a usb2 port on it? It's a compaq and is about 14 months old. She wants to get an ipod and I want to be sure it will work.

   If you open device manager and look under USB serial bus controllers you should see USB enhanced host controller ... if you have this then you have USB2.0 if not then you only have USB1.1.

   Thanks for the quick reply. There are 3 USB ports on the laptop. Are they all USB2. If not, how do I find out which is.

   also another way is to goto Compaqs website and look up the tech specs for the model of laptop she has ( or if you still have the documents that came with the laptop the specs should be there also )
