Quilt Photos that I promised ages ago

Alright, I've finally gotten my act together. I promised Pegg that I'd post pictures of the crazy quilt I made Eric when we were engaged. Here it is with several additional patches where I've had to mend it. Added a few patches from the kids' outgrown clothes as well as some embroidery patches that MartyP's wife made me.

That's incredible. I was thinking "wow! that's ginormous!" but maybe it's Drexel in comparison.

 

Yeah, it's not all that big. Drexel's getting to be a big boy! I made it for Eric while he was single. Didn't consider that it would need to be bigger in a year We use it for cuddling on the couch, and it used to be spread out on the floor for the kids to lay on when they were babies. They still do that sometimes when the couch is taken up.

 

Initially it was all done on the machine. I've gone back and done some of the hand embroidery in my spare time.

I never learned to chochet or knit. I'm left handed and it was too hard for me back when my Mom tried to teach me. I'm starting to want to learn now, so I might give it a try. I bet I could learn from mirroring someone, or from a book. I've just got too many friends who sit and make these beautiful hats and scarves and things, and I'm starting to wish I could do it too. I used to say that I already do too many crafts and I don't need another one, but I think I just have too much fun learning new things!

I have the same problem as you have....I am left handed. When I learned to Crochet, I found some really easy books with pictures and everything for the left handed person at my local sewing store...If you have a real problem finding one, PM me and I will send you a copy of the book I have.
