quitting xp setup????

Was having some problems with an xp install, probably from to much tweaking. So I decided to reload xp, no go. It stops loading in the middle of the install. The lights at the bottom right flash across like their suppose to and the screen keeps changing dialog letting me know how good xp is but nothing else happens for hours on end. It says 32 minutes until completion and stays there. Well now I can't get out of setup and I can't get setup to finish. I tried safe mode and safe mode with a c: prompt but all I get is a message that setup can't continue in safe mode. I don't want setup anymore since it's not going to work, what do I do? I also tried restore to last good configuation but it, again just goes into setup. HOW do I quit setup and if I can't what's my next step???

 

Try a repair install of XP from CD, method 2:

Nope everything just takes me back to where I'm stuck. I tried everything on that page but nothing. I did manage to get a couple of more error messages pertaining to stuff and things I've never heard about, but then thats not saying much.
So I decided to just go ahead and format the SOB and be done with it. Only problem is I can't seem to get that done either. How do I format this dear sweet computer of mine.








anybody got a cat I can borrow

 

If you have more than one cd drive try loading via different cd drive.
Is your xp cd original or say backup copy, sometimes copies made from one cd drive have problem's being read by another.
Also clean your cd, maybe dirty or scratches.
