when I first saw this thread my immediate thought was they took the Dave Chappelle Show off.




Too bad he was so young, anyone know how his death happend? RickJames.com has a pic of him smoking, wonder if it was related.

 

whats so funny about it? The fact that your dad told you about it or that you're not even old enough to drive a car yet?

 

Probably, wasn't he a major drug addict?

Yeah, I heard about this about like 20 mins ago from another site, but wasn't sure if it was true or not. RIP.

 

MSN says that he died of natural causes but I doubt that. He was known for having drug habits and health problems back in the 80s. I bet that added some of it. He suffered a stroke in the mid 90s and he had a hip replaced in the late 90s.

 

Just a wealth of knowledge aren't you.

 

just sharing some stuff.... i myself didn't know that he had a hip replacement and suffered a stroke. just trying to point out some stuff. calm down.

 

Drugs are known to shorten lifespans. All of the drugs and having a stroke and a surgery could have caused a "natural death" where the stress his body took could have shortened his life.

I gave up TV and don't listen to radio and just found out about it now. How old was he? 55?

 

Rick James dead? Not what I expected to hear.

 

He was 52. Considering that 52 is not exactly a full human life-span, no doubt his substance abuse and other factors contributed to his so-called 'natural' death.

Yes, he was a recovering drug addict, but who knows if he was still using.
If folks are going to be insensitive about the man dying, it would probably be appreciate by most people if they don't post. But then again, it's a free country. He had created some sort of community service organization to help kids stay off drugs and avoid a criminal lifestyle, last I heard.
