This is not a malware problem. You should continue where you started your other thread but my guess is that you are missing one or all of the below files and you will need to restore them from backups on the PC or from CD.

    C:\Windows\system32\spoolsv.exe
    C:\Windows\system32\spoolss.dll
    C:\Windows\SysWow64\spoolss.dll

You could try running sfc /scannow from a command prompt to see if it restores anything.

    chaslang,
Here is the cut&paste from the command prompt window:

    Code:
    C:\Users\Administrator>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

How do I restore the file from the factory image? I never did this with one file...
It's an HP desktop machine and when I tried to search the image partition for the "spool*" file the search did not yeild anything.

    Thank you.

As I stated earlier, this is not a malware problem so you should continue in your other thread. But do not that you cannot restore files from the factory image. It is a reimage of your hard disk that puts it back to out of box condition which removes anything you put on the PC.
