radeon 9600xt or 9800 pro

hi i just got a new motherboard ABIT NS7-S AND A NEW PROCESSOR AMD Athlon XP 2800+


radeon 9600xt or 9800 pro?

 

9800Pro IMO is the best bang for the buck. It is a really nice card. I can play Doom3 with ultra quality and still maintain goog fps.

i have the 9600xt and i play doom 3 set on high and is great.on ultra it starts to freak out a bit but if you look at my computor specs you will see that my system is a little long in the tooth but still i get great performance out of it

 

i cast a vote for pro for the bang/price as well.

 

Definitely the 9800 Pro. Flat out, it's a better card than the 9600XT for about the same price. Tom's Hardware has a good review of all the graphics cards up to the 9800XTs and 5950 Ultras:
