radeon 9600xt problems

Hello I have a radeon 9600xt and i have driver errors. I have installed the latest drivers, but i my games still crash and i loose my sound both from a driver error. (started after i upgraded my video card) I have given up on fixing it but i was wondering if i could get a better video card for under $200? What are you recommendations, and how does the geforce 6600gt compare?

 

the 6600gt is a good card for the price range.

Are you sure that the card you currently have is not faulty? Has it ever worked?
If it is faulty could you return it to the place where you bought it and ask for another because the 9600xt is a very good card.

If you do plan on getting a 6600gt there are some very good value ones on ebay.

i'd have to agree with broken arrows,we like to fix problems rather than buy our way out of them ,I think you should have ago at fixing it again with the help of this forum,if not the 6600gt is a good card for gaming
