Radeon HD 5770

Ok so I have a Radeon HD 5770 Video card and I am trying to hook up 3 monitors to it, I have two using DVI ports and one using HDMI, but atm only 2 monitors are showing up in the control panel, the 3rd is plugged in and everything but will not show up at all. Help?

Btw, the 2 that are showing up are connected through DVI the HDMI one isn't showing up.

 

The HDMI output on a graphics card uses the feed from one DVI port. So if you use both DVI ports you cannot use the HDMI.

Also, most graphics cards can only support 2 monitors. You may need a second graphics card if you want to display three different parts of your desktop. If you want three copies of the same thing, there are Y adapters available.

 

Yes, as collinsl said you need atleast 2 gpu's to run triple monitors.

Ok so from what I've read you can use three monitors on this card, but you need whats called a Native Display Port adapter, I know theres a port for it on the card, so is that it? Just get a Display Port adapter to DVI and I can plug in my monitor?

Sorry about giving you the wrong info, I wasn't even aware of the displayport before now. Shocking I know - I am supposed to know this stuff!:-o

Ok ive been reading up too and it seems that theres two kinds of adapters that range in prices, theres Passive and Active, passive can only be used as a 1st or 2nd monitor, while active can be used as any, can anyone help me find a moderately priced active adapter? Yes the one linked earlier is the right kind but its 90 bucks, I'd rather save some money and buy a cheaper one.
