Raid 0 HDs, New Controller, Ooops

In short, the new MB will not read the 2 HDs. My Asus P4G8X w/Silicon Image Sil3112A SATA Raid failed. I purchased an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe w/Intel 875P, ICH5R SATA Raid and a Promise 20378 SATA Raid controller on the MB. The 2 HDs were set up as Raid 0 (striped) on the P4G8X. I tried both controllers on the new MB. They both recognize the drives, but not the raid setup. WinXP Pro (on an IDE HD) does not see the drives. The problem shows in each controller's BIOS before Win loads. Win does recognize both controllers. I'm new at this Raid stuff. Any ideas on how I can get to my data?

Were the raid drivers installed on the drive that has windows on it??

Windows does not provide ANY generic SATA/Raid drivers...so you have to install them into windows, in order fro your OS to see the drives that are connected to the sata controllers!!

Yes, the drivers are on the HD with windows. Win boots normally with the exception of a few files it is looking for on the Raid drive(s). Device manager reports both controllers operating normally. And windows does see both drives. They are presently unallocated. I don't want to change that because I fear I will lose the data on them.

I finally solved my problem. I found a PCI controller board with the same chipset as the failed MB. It recognized them and their configuration. I then assigned their old drive letters to them in windows. Everything came back as if nothing happened.
