I had just booted my computer was checking email then my system stopped responding completely, did a manual reboot it gave me a dick read error, did another reboot said all my raid member disks were offline, did another reboot all the disks were online one was not a raid member, another reboot and they are all raid member disks then i get a read error press control alt delete to restart,im using the onboard intel raid ICH9R (P35 chipset) with 3 WD 6400AAKS in a RAID 0, it seems to me that maybe the raid controller failed? i have another computer i can test it on thats using the i955 chipset that i can test it on, but does anybody know what could have happened? the drive are about 3 months old my computer is run for about 8-12 hours a day. If i cant get this fixed i will lost about 750GB of data. Please i need some help!

I just could of been that it overheated and fried itself, or maybe not. It's hard to say. Try it on your other computer and see what happens.

    *and dick read error eh?

My bad on the disk read error lol, I left my system off for about 2 hours (it crashed at 20:12:59 i waited about 2 hours having it unplugged powered it back on and it started normally without a fuss, scared of ym data backed it up immetadatly, i havent turned it on yet today, could it be a random occurance or is it possible that the raid controller is dieing?

    Hi Sniper

I have had this on occasion with my desktops RAID0 and Intel Matrix Raid, you may see this happen only once, but then you may see it a few times, in most instances a reboot works (only my own thoughts but seem to have this happen on ASUS mobos more than others). Also check the temps of your system.

Good on backup as RAID0 has no redundacy as its not fault tollerant.

Intersting, i am running an Asus board myself, P5K Premium WiFi/AP i guess i'll keep and eye out incase it happens again, ona side note i really need to get a drive big enough to backup all my data. I'm pretty sure the thermals are fine on my system, the hard dirve also have their own coolers but i'll check when i get back tonight.
