    Hi,

I am wondering if there is a diagnostic tool out there that would determine which sdram is bad in the computer? Computer is only registering that it has 400 mb...just doesn't add up!! As well, is there an indicator on the sdram to tell me the size? 64 mb etc.?

Appreciate any help that I am given!!

How much RAM do you have installed? What kind of computer do you have, what's the name and model number? Your RAM may be in use, and if that's the case, it's not bad. It's just busy :)

Search for memtest on this site. Write it to floppy/cd/dvd. Boot it up.

Google "pc wizard" & use it to list your specs.

    My favorite app EVEREST:

DL expand Motherboard and click on SPD will give you all the info you need for your RAM. A very good MemTest app while in Windows:

    http://hcidesign.com/memtest/

Open up your Task Manager and then run it while looking at your Page File Usage if this is not near the top then open the same progarm and run 2 of them (I had to run 4 to test all my RAM). Let it at least get to 100%.....running it overnight will give you the best results.
