ram boot up problem

    I have 3 slots on my motherboard for ram, I have always had 2 filled yesterday i tried adding a 3rd and when i would try to boot up nothing would happen the screen would stay completly black. as soon as i took that stick of ram out it would work fine. i tired this 2 or 3 times and it did it each time. whats going on?

    Either wrong ram (check specs on mobo) or possibly bad. Are they all the same type? ,are they seated properly?------Try taking the 2 that work out and replace w/ the new one in slots that worked ---this will tell you if its a memory problem as opposed to another.
