    Hi guys,

My laptop took a fall and now only the onboard RAM is being recognized, either the RAM stick or the RAM slot is damaged. Is there any way to determine which? I don't have another laptop to try the RAM stick or another RAM stick to try in the DIMM slot.

I'm trying to determine which before deciding whether it can be replaced.

    Laptop Brand - ASUS
    Model - F555L

I'm currently using with an external screen (built-in screen damaged), so I cannot use things like Memtest86, as the laptop does not transfer to the external screen until boot is complete.

If there is a way to transfer to external before boot, maybe I can then try it.

    Please help.
    Thanks.

You won't be able to determine which part is faulty with only one stick and slot.

Have you removed the RAM and reinserted it yet? It could be loose.
