Helo..ive just bought a 2g stick of ddr2 800 to go with my existing 2 sticks of
1g ddr2 800 and vista now sees 4g but besides no noticible increase in speed that i can tell, the windows index score remains the same as it was after refreshing it. Everything is 5.9 apart from the memory which is 4.5...giving 4.5 overall. I presumed the memory score would increase with the new ram. Should the memory go in the slots in a certain way? As it is it has 2g in the 1st blue slot and the 1g sticks in the white slot and other blue slot leaving other white slot empty. Asus P5N32-E SLI I used to think ram had to be in pairs but shop who sold it to me said it doesnt matter.I bought the pc from them 2 years ago as barebones...many thanks for any replies Alan

It depends. More more may not necessarily improve your score.

fyi I had 4gb ram and upgraded to 8gb ram and no score increase.

Also, if it was faster ram, you may see a difference. More won't equal faster.
